What is Echinacea
Echinacea is an ancient herbaceous plant that grows on the prairies in moist soils. Echinacea is considered to be native to North America. It is known for its ancient and modern use in medicine, horticulture and beekeeping. The genus of this amazing herb includes 22 species, and purple Echinacea (Echinacea purpurea) is commonly used in medicine. It is an extremely valuable tool in medicine, due to its antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal effects.
Composition of Echinacea
Echinacea flowers and roots contain a large amount of essential oils. The glucoside echinacoside found in its roots is a polysaccharide from the heteroglycan family, it is its main antimicrobial and antiviral component. Echinacosides are particularly complexes of glucose and caffeic acid. They have a stimulating and activating effect by neutralizing inflammation and improving overall cell functions. Echinacea is also rich in other biologically active components – fatty acids, polyphenols, terpenoids, tannins (with anti-inflammatory action), amino acids, enzymes. In addition to the above, echinacea has a high content of minerals – calcium, potassium, sulfur, iron, chromium, manganese, cobalt, zinc, selenium.
Main benefits of Echinacea for the body:
- Strong immunostimulating effect
- Antibacterial, antimicrobial and antifungal action
- Helps to increase immunity and shorten the period of illness
- Helps reduce the risk of respiratory infections
- Helps protect against viruses and colds
- Strongly counteracts fungi and herpes
- Helps cure skin diseases
- Neutralizes the action of toxins in the body
Echinacea to boost the immune system
The decline of immunity and the entry of bacteria are the main drivers for the development of viruses and infections. Echinacea gives positive indications in the fight against various disease-causing agents through its antiviral and immunostimulating action. Its composition is extremely reactive to the inflammatory processes of the body. It acts as a natural immunostimulator by supporting the body’s positive immune response. This is due to Echinacea’s ability to activate immune functions through increased production of stem cells in the bone marrow and lymph tissue.
It counteracts bacterial and viral infections by activating the production of interferon
Interferon, in turn, cellularly suppresses the development of the virus and thus makes a great contribution to the body’s immune defense. In fact, interferon interacts with viral cells. By attaching to virus-infected cells, it stimulates their degradation as well as blocks their ability to spread. Therefore, when the reproductive viral ability is stopped, the infectious process stops or reduces its continuation. Its natural ability not only triggers healing, but also stimulates the body’s defenses.
Echinacea in the fight against fungi and herpes
Echinacea has been proven with its antiviral, anti-inflammatory and antifungal effect, which supports the body’s functions in a number of ways. Echinacea boosts the immune system and promotes fungal healing. Forunlike a number of antibiotic preparations, echinacea is distinguished by its valuable ingredients, which are often gentle on the body. This inevitably saves the natural forces needed to deal with infections and protect the body.
Herpes are a large section, part of viral infections and are divided into two main types – oral and genital. Their appearance is associated with acute symptoms such as rashes, itching, unpleasant odor, burning, redness and dryness. It is characteristic of herpes that they deform the chosen place and usually recur. Echinacea is an excellent means of prevention and shortening the duration of the common (oral) herpes virus infection.
Echinacea against diseases of the female reproductive system
Inflammatory processes in the female genital organs are characterized by aggressiveness, progressiveness and recurrence. The usual practice for the manifestation of such diseases is the application of antibiotic treatment, but this often leads to a recurrence of the infectious process. Recurrence of such infections usually takes longer to treat and is more severe. Inflammations such as vulvitis, vaginitis, bartholinitis, endometritis, trichomoniasis and other similar infections are usually caused by an incoming bacteria. Depending on many factors, these inflammatory processes can be acute or chronic in nature. In most cases, they occur without pronounced symptoms, and this makes them extremely dangerous, as there is a great possibility that they will not be clarified in time, which further complicates the cure. Echinacea stands out among many natural and medicinal remedies. Its properties give good results in inflammatory processes occurring in the female genital organs. Echinacea has properties that provide an immunostimulating, antiviral and antifungal effect. Echinacea extract supports these and a number of other functions of the body, improving their work. Infections of the female genital tract are strongly associated with a positive immune response. Echinacea has also been shown to have the ability to boost the immune system and aid fungal healing.
